Real Life. Real Leadership. Why?

People have high expectations of their workplaces and their leaders. We aren’t satisfied with businesses solely being analytically driven to deliver results.

We want to be engaged, connected and valued for what we contribute, yet for some, we are physically further away from our colleagues than we ever have been before.

In Series 2 of our Red Emu Advisory ‘Real Life. Real Leadership’ interviews, we were grateful to hear from Terry Agnew, Gningala Yarran-Mark, Sarah Duffy, Brad Rogers, Stephanie Unwin, Shane Addis and Holly Clark.

Each shared distinctly different stories about their path to leadership. But what was common was the value they place on those around them, the value derived from investing in team development, and the requirement to develop strong communication capability. Underpinning all of this was the importance they place on purpose-led leadership.

At Red Emu Advisory we work closely with leadership teams to help them create alignment, to optimise how they work together, and to create a climate where all employees feel connected and equipped to thrive.

A highly effective leadership team creates an environment that attracts people towards it – whether an employee, customer or supplier. It is those organisations that go on to outperform their peers.

Next week, with a group of leaders from diverse backgrounds and businesses, we head to Bullo River Station for the 2021 Red Emu Advisory Executive Leadership Tour. These leaders will step outside their daily routines and comfort zones to draw inspiration from the vastness of the outback and engage in ways that will challenge how they view the world around them, and their place within in it.

On that note we leave you with a quote from Mark Twain: “The two most important days in your life are the day that you are born and the day you find out why.”
